Jalapeño Popper Burgers
Jalapeño Popper Burgers are the ultimate grilled burger to add to your next cookout menu! Grilled burgers coated in delicious homemade barbecue sauce and topped with bacon wrapped jalapeño poppers.
Jalapeño poppers are a great appetizer and when added to grilled burgers, it is an epic flavor combination! How to Make Jalapeño Poppers:
- Trim jalapeños, cut in half and remove seeds and membranes.
- Mix cream cheese with garlic, salt, pepper and shredded cheese.
- Spoon cream cheese mixture into jalapeño halves and wrap in bacon.
- Place on a parchment paper and bake for about 25 minutes.

How to Make Jalapeño Popper Burgers:
- Prepare a grill fire with hickory or oak to about 350°.
- Mix ground beef with Best Dry Rub and form into patties.
- Grill patties over direct heat for about 5 minutes, flip burgers and brush with barbecue sauce.
- Continue to cook 5 minutes, flip burgers once more and coat the other side with barbecue sauce. Cook until internal temperature reaches 165° with a digital thermometer.
- Remove burgers from the grill.
- Butter buns and toast lightly.
- Top buns with your favorite condiments, a burger patty and 2-3 jalapeño poppers and top buns.
- Serve immediately.
How to Store and Reheat:
Store grilled burger patties and jalapeño poppers in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap up to 3 days in refrigerator.
Reheat in a skillet with about 2 tablespoons of water, cover and cook over medium heat about 5-8 minutes until heated through. Flip patties half way through.

Jalapeño Popper Burgers
Ingredients
for the jalapeno poppers
- 12 jalapenos
- 4 ounces cream cheese softened
- 12 teaspoon granulated garlic
- ¼ teaspoon kosher salt
- ¼ teaspoon pepper
- 2 ounces shredded cheese cheddar or colby-jack
- 6 slices bacon
for the burgers
- 2 pounds lean ground beef
- 1 cup Best Dry Rub
- ½ cup barbecue sauce
- 6 burger buns
- 3 tablespoons butter
- lettuce and sliced onion for serving
- condiments for serving
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400°.
- Slice jalapenos in half, removing tops, seeds and membranes.
- Mix cream cheese with garlic, salt and pepper. Stir in shredded cheese.
- Stuff jalapeno halves with cream cheese mixture.
- Cut bacon in half and wrap a slice around each jalapeno half.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until bacon is crisp.
- Mix ground beef with dry rub and form into 6 patties.
- Prepare a grill fire to about 350°.
- Cook burgers over direct heat for about 5 minutes, flip burgers and brush with barbecue sauce. Close the lid and cook for another 5 minutes.
- Brush with barbecue sauce and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 165°with a digital thermometer.
- Remove burgers from the grill.
- Spread buns with butter and toast lightly.
- Top buns with favorite condiments, lettuce, onion, burger patties and jalapeno poppers. Serve immediately.
