Welcome to Out Grilling!

We’re Tony and Milisa Armstrong, a husband-and-wife team. After many years of living and cooking on cattle ranches in Wyoming and Oklahoma, we now call Clarksville, Arkansas home.

Grilling has always been part of our family life. Tony loves spending time at the grill and smoker, while Milisa handles much of the recipe writing, photography and behind-the-scenes work. Together, we create approachable grilling and barbecue recipes that home cooks can make with confidence.

Our Barbecue Story

In the early 2000s, we started our own barbecue sauce business. What began as a small family business grew into something we were incredibly proud of. We later sold the company, and it is still thriving today.

One of the highlights of that journey was having our barbecue sauce featured in The Wall Street Journal.

After selling the sauce business, Milisa missed the creativity and connection that came from sharing food with others. That inspired her to start Miss in the Kitchen in February 2010.

As the website grew, Tony became increasingly involved in developing grilling and smoking recipes. Our shared love of outdoor cooking eventually led us to create Out Grilling.

At Out Grilling, we share tested recipes for grilling, smoking and outdoor cooking. You’ll find everything from quick weeknight meals and backyard barbecue favorites to homemade sauces, seasoning blends and impressive recipes for special occasions.

We believe great grilling does not have to be complicated. Our goal is to provide clear instructions, helpful tips and dependable recipes that help you serve something delicious every time you fire up the grill.

Kitchen Solutions

In 2026, we opened Kitchen Solutions in downtown Clarksville, Arkansas. Our shop brings together kitchen essentials, unique finds, locally made products and plenty of inspiration for cooking indoors and out.
