Garlic Butter Steaks are one of our most popular grilled steak recipes and this tasty butter would be good on grilled burgers, grilled chuck roast or prime rib.

Some people say a good grilled steak doesn’t need any sauce and while that can be true, we love a good sauce. This steak butter adds incredible flavors that compliment the steak without overwhelming the smoky grilled beef.

Ingredients Needed

  • Salted Butter
  • Minced Garlic
  • Prepared Horseradish
  • Spicy Brown Mustard
  • Fresh Chives
  • Dried Thyme
  • Kosher Salt
  • Fresh Ground Pepper
  • Chili Flakes

Step By Step Directions

Melted butter with minced garlic in a small pan.

Melt butter in a small saucepan over low heat. Add the minced garlic and cook 1 minute.

Remove from heat. Add horseradish, brown mustard, chopped chives, thyme, salt, pepper and chili flakes. We minced our chili flakes, this is optional.

Whisk together.

Place in a small bowl. Refrigerate while you prepare the steaks.

Recipe Notes

Storage: Store steak butter in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 1 week or freeze up to 1 month.

Variations: Dijon mustard can be substituted for spicy brown mustard. Use your favorite herbs. If you aren’t a fan of horseradish, it can be omitted.
