Smoked Pulled Pork Hoagies with a creamy mojo inspired sauce are topped with crispy onion strings for an epic sandwich like no other. A hearty and delicious meal for any night of the week.
We love smoky pulled pork and it is one of our favorites to cook over the weekend for easy pork carnitas and bbq sandwiches for busy weeknights.
One of our favorite things to make with pork butt is homemade sausage. We do a fantastic breakfast sausage, smoked sausage and maple sausage. A few weeks ago we picked up 2 pork butts on sale and trimmed them down to 2- 3 pounds each around the blade bones.
We took those trimmed down pork butts and grilled them with hickory smoke for about 3 hours. These sandwiches were one of the meals we made from them. Use any pulled pork that you have on hand if you don't have time to smoke a pork butt this weekend.

The creamy mojo sauce is a Cuban inspired recipe that adds a bright and fresh taste that pairs perfectly with the smoky pork. It's traditionally made with sour oranges, which we can never find, so we use regular orange juice along with lime juice, lots of garlic and cilantro.
Mojo sauce is typically a marinade for pork but we turned it into a sauce to serve over these sandwiches. It's also a fantastic salad dressing or try it over chicken and fish.
