Pineapple BBQ Pork Chops

Pineapple BBQ Pork Chops are grilled to juicy perfection and then slathered in a sweet and tangy pineapple bbq sauce for a fantastic dinner that can be on the dinner table in no time at all. 

What goes better together than pork and pineapple?! We made these pork chops for dinner and the entire family was crazy about them.  Serve them up with grilled potato wedges or rice pilaf and garlic bread for a low-stress, easy meal.

Ingredients for Pineapple BBQ Pork Chops:

  • Pork Chops
  • Olive Oil

Pineapple BBQ Sauce:

  • Olive Oil
  • Minced Garlic
  • Pineapple Preserves
  • Ketchup
  • Brown Sugar
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Worcestershire Sauce
  • Dry Mustard
  • Ground Ginger
  • Kosher Salt
  • Chili Flakes

How to Grill Pineapple BBQ Pork Chops:

  • Set pork chops out to come to room temperature while you prepare a grill fire to about 300° using hickory for smoke flavor.
  • Cooking pork chops low and slow will keep them tender and juicy.
  • Pat pork chops dry with paper towels. Drizzle olive oil over pork chops and use a sharp knife or fork to tenderize and push the olive oil down into the pork chops.

  • Grill pork chops over indirect fire for about 5 – 8 minutes with the grill lid closed.

  • Flip Pork chops and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 145° with a  digital thermometer

  • Remove from grill to a sheet pan.

  • Spoon pineapple bbq sauce over pork chops and allow to rest about 10 minutes before serving.

HOW TO STORE AND REHEAT:

Store leftover pork chops in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap, refrigerated up to 4 days. 

To Reheat:  Sliced pork chops can be reheated in a skillet with 1 tablespoon of pineapple bbq sauce and 1 tablespoon of water per pork chop. Cook over medium heat, stirring often until heated through, about 7- 10 minutes.

  1. Prepare a grill fire to about 300° with hickory wood for the best smoke flavor.
  2. Set pork chops out to come to room temperature and pat dry with paper towels.
  3. Drizzle olive oil over pork chops and use a knife to pierce all over.
  4. Cook pork chops over indirect fire with the grill closed for about 8 minutes.
  5. Flip pork chops and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 165° using a digital thermometer. Total cook time will depend on the thickness of pork chops but should be about 15 minutes.
  6. Remove from grill and spoon pineapple bbq sauce over pork chops.
  7. Rest 5- 10 minutes and serve.

Notes

Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days. Slice pork chops to reheat. Place in a skillet with 1 tablespoon of bbq sauce and 1 tablespoon of water per pork chop. Cook over medium heat, stirring until heated through.

Pineapple BBQ Sauce Recipe

Pineapple BBQ Sauce is a sweet and tangy homemade sauce that is great for grilling chicken, pork or shrimp. It's also the best dipping sauce for your favorite deep fried foods.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 18 oz Pineapple Preserves
  • 1/3 cup ketchup
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon ground mustard
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes

Instructions

  1. Drizzle olive oil into a saucepan and add minced garlic. Cook over low heat about 2 minutes.
  2. Stir in pineapple preserves, ketchup, brown sugar, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, ground ginger and salt.
  3. Raise heat to medium and whisk until well combined. Bring mixture to a boil and cook 2 minutes, whisking often.
  4. Remove from heat and whisk in chili flakes.
  5. Store in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 3 months.
