Cooking Time for Strip Steak:
Strip steaks are usually boneless and will cook quickly. Depending on the thickness and how you like your steak cooked will determine the total cooking time. This makes a digital thermometer the key to cooking the perfect steak. We like rare steak to medium cooked steak and our total cooking time was about 6- 8 minutes.
The best way to ensure tender, juicy steak is to pull the steaks about 5° before the final temperature. As the steaks rest, the temperature will continue to rise.
How to Store and Reheat:
Store leftover steak in an airtight container or wrapped in plastic wrap or aluminum foil in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
Reheat steak in a skillet with olive oil over medium heat. Steak can be sliced before reheating to reheat quickly.
Steak can also be reheated in an air fryer for about 3- 4 minutes at 350°.
Best Steaks for Grilling:
- NY Strip Steak comes from the top part of the short loin of a cow. It's a tender cut that has fat on the edge marbling throughout for rich flavor.
- Porterhouse Steaks or T-Bone Steak
- Filet Mignon
- Ribeye Steak
