Grilled Ranch Potatoes

Grilled Steak and potatoes is about as delicious as it gets on the grill. We made these ranch potatoes to serve with Grilled Tri-Tip and they were the perfect compliment.

Ingredients for Ranch Potatoes:

  • Baby Potatoes
  • Olive Oil
  • Ranch Salad Dressing Mix

How to Make Grilled Ranch Potatoes:

  • Scrub potatoes and cut larger potatoes in half.

  • Place potatoes in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.

  • Sprinkle Ranch seasoning over potatoes.

  • Toss to coat well.

  • Using a large sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil, add the potatoes to the center.

  • Fold foil into a sealed packet.

  • Grill over indirect heat for about 45 minutes to one hour. 
  • If you would like to test the potatoes near the end of cooking time, you can insert your digital thermometer into the top of the packet. Potatoes are done at around 205°.

  • Remove potatoes from the grill and carefully open the packet, it is likely to steam when opened.

  • Place potatoes in a serving bowl and pour any remaining oil over the potatoes and stir to combine. 
  • Serve immediately.

How to Store and Reheat:

Store leftover potatoes in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days. 

Reheat in a skillet with olive oil or vegetable oil over medium heat. Stir often, cooking until heated through.

Ingredients

  • 2 ½ pounds baby potatoes
  • cup olive oil
  • 6 tablespoons or 2 packets of dry Ranch Dressing Seasoning Mix

Instructions

  • Scrub potatoes and cut larger potatoes in half.
  • Toss potatoes with olive oil and ranch seasoning mix in a bowl.
  • Form a foil packet with a large sheet of heavy duty aluminum foil, sealing well.
  • Cook over indirect heat with the grill lid closed at about 350° - 400° for 45 minutes to 1 hour.
  • Remove from heat and open packet carefully, watching for steam.
  • Pour potatoes into a serving dish and drizzle with any remaining oil from the packet.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

Potatoes are cooked through at about 205° if you would like to test with your digital thermometer. Just be sure to test through the top of the foil.
