Chili Cheese Burgers
Chili Cheese Burgers will transform burger night into something comforting and incredibly delicious. Grilled burgers topped with hearty chili and plenty of cheese! Great for a quick weeknight meal or game day gathering with friends.

Grilled burgers are one of the meals that we never get tired of and we really like to get creative for burger night. Our Stuffed Pepper Burgers and Grilled Onion Burgers are a few of our most requested recipes.
Ingredients Needed for Chili Cheese Burgers

- Ground Beef: We used 80/20 for this recipe, made into 4 inch patties.
- Out Grilling Sweet BBQ Rub or Burger Seasoning
- Onion: Sliced thin.
- Chili: We are using a homemade chili but your favorite canned chili will work.
- Cheese: Colby-Jack, Cheddar or Pepper-Jack – shredded.
- Candied Jalapenos or candied banana peppers – optional garnish
- Burger Buns
How to Make Chili Cheese Burgers

- Prepare a grill fire to 375°.
- Season burger patties with rub.
- Place burger patties and onion slices over indirect fire and cook with the grill closed about 5 minutes.
- Flip the burgers and onions and continue to cook until patties reach 165° using a digital meat thermometer.

- Remove burgers and onions from the grill.
- Heat the chili in a pan over medium heat, stirring often until heated through.

- Place grilled burger patties onto the bottom bun, spoon chili over the top. Sprinkle with shredded cheese. Add onions and jalapenos if desired and add the top bun.
Recipe Notes
- Storage: Store leftover burger patties in an airtight container in the refrigerator 2-3 days. Store chili and toppings in separate containers in the refrigerator.
- Reheat: Cook burgers in a skillet with 2 tablespoons of water over medium-high heat, turning after 2 minutes, cooking until heated through. Reheat chili in a saucepan, over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
- Additions: Add any of your favorite condiments like cooked bacon, onion strings or sliced tomatoes.
Serving Suggestions: Grilled Potato Wedges, Jalapeno Potato Salad or Fritos are great alongside grilled chili burgers.

- 4 burger buns
- 1 cup cheese colby-jack, cheddar or pepper-jack, shredded
