Ingredients for Mozzarella Burgers:
- Ground Beef 80/20
- Brown Sugar
- Onion Flakes
- Granulated Garlic
- Onion Powder
- Green Chile Powder
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Shredded Mozzarella Cheese
- Lettuce, Tomato, Red Onion
- Burger Sauce
- Hamburger Buns

How to Make Mozzarella Burgers:
- Mix the burger rub together in a bowl, combining brown sugar, onion flakes, granulated garlic, onion powder, chile powder, salt and pepper.
- In another bowl mix ground beef with burger rub and shredded mozzarella.
- Form into ⅓ pound burger patties.
- Refrigerate while you prepare a grill fire to about 350° using hickory wood chunks for smoke flavor.
- Grill burgers over indirect fire with the grill lid closed about 5 minutes.
- Flip burgers and continue to cook until internal temperature reaches 165° using a digital thermometer, about 8- 10 minutes.
- Remove burgers to a serving platter.
- Serve grilled ground beef burger patties on hamburger buns with burger sauce, lettuce, tomato and onion.
How to Store and Reheat Burgers:
Store burger patties in an airtight container or wrapped in foil in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Burger patties can be reheated in a covered skillet with 2 tablespoons of water over medium heat. Flip patties after about 5 minutes and continue to cook, covered until heated through.
Alternately, reheat in an air fryer at 350° for about 3- 5 minutes.

Mozzarella Burgers
Mozzarella Burgers will take your backyard burger game to the next level of deliciousness. Ground beef patties with shredded mozzarella mixed right in along with a homemade burger seasoning and served with our famous burger sauce.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds ground beef 80/20
- 2 cups shredded mozzarella
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon green chile powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon black pepper
- burger sauce
- lettuce, tomato, red onion
- 6 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Place ground beef in a large bowl.
- In another bowl combine brown sugar, onion flakes, green chile powder, onion powder, garlic, salt and pepper together.
- Add spices to the ground beef with shredded mozzarella.
- Mix well until thoroughly combined.
- Form into 6 patties and place in a single layer on a sheet pan.
- Refrigerate while you prepare a grill fire to about 350° using hickory for smoke flavor.
- Grill burgers over indirect fire with the grill closed about 5- 7 minutes.
- Flip burgers and continue to cook until internal temperature of burgers reaches 165° using a digital thermometer.
- Remove from grill to a serving platter.
- Serve on buns with burger sauce, tomato, lettuce and onion.
Notes
Store leftover burger patties in an airtight container or wrapped in foil for up to 3 days.
Reheat patties in a skillet with a few tablespoons of water. Cover and cook over medium heat about 5 minutes. Flip patties and continue to cook another 2- 3 minutes until heated through.
An air fryer is also a great option for reheating burgers. Cook at 350° for about 3- 5 minutes.
