Rosemary Mustard BBQ Sauce is one of our favorites for grilled chicken, cocktail meatballs and burgers. If you are a mustard fan,  this sweet and spicy version is a must try.

I’ve always said sauces could be their own food group at our house. This Sweet and Spicy Jalapeño Mustard will assure that you will never eat another boring sandwich!

Ingredients Needed For Spicy Mustard

  • French’s Prepared Yellow Mustard
  • Brown Sugar
  • Granulated Garlic
  • Granulated Onion Powder
  • Smoked Paprika
  • Candied or Pickled Jalapeños 

Step By Step Directions For Spicy Mustard Sauce

Pan with mustard, brown sugar, spices.
  1. Add mustard, brown sugar, garlic, onion and smoked paprika to a saucepan.
  2. Cook over low heat, whisking until combined. Remove from heat.
Finely diced red and green candied jalapenos.

3. Finely dice the jalapeños.

4. Stir into the mustard sauce.

5. Serve immediately or cover and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Recipe Notes

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 months. 
  • If you want it to be extra spicy, add more jalapeños or cayenne pepper to taste.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup French's prepared yellow mustard
  • ¾ cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
  • 1 teaspoon granulated onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons finely diced candied or pickled jalapeños

Instructions

  • Place mustard, brown sugar, garlic, onion and smoked paprika in a saucepan. Cook over low heat, whisking until brown sugar is melted and sauce starts to bubble.
  • Remove from heat and stir in the diced jalapeños.
  • Serve immediately or refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 months. Stir before using.
Add additional jalapeños or cayenne pepper to make it extra spicy.

  1. I made half a recipe to see if we liked it. Oh my goodness….so good. I did thicken it a bit with a little cornstarch & water mix.
    We really like it on sub sandwiches & to dip little smokies. Already making a full recipe. half recipe didn’t last long!!

  2. fantastic flavor! I make candied jalapeños regularly and when I read your recipe..yes! question would be what can I add to this to make it so It can be canned so I can have it aplenty in the pantry?
