Store bought sauces are great when you are in a hurry but we really like making our own to get just the right amount of heat and spice that we like. This Plum Sauce is so easy to make and is great to have on hand to make tasty meals.

  • Plum Preserves
  • Brown Sugar
  • Pineapple Juice
  • Apple Cider Vinegar
  • Soy Sauce
  • Granulated Garlic
  • Ground Ginger
  • Kosher Salt
  • Ground Chili Flakes or Red Pepper

🔥 Step By Step Directions

  1. Add the plum preserves, brown sugar, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, granulated garlic, ground ginger and salt to a saucepan. Cooking pan of plum sauce.
  2. Cook over medium heat, whisking to combine. Continue to cook 5- 8 minutes until brown sugar is dissolved.Plum sauce in a pan with whisk.

  4. Pour into jars and cool to room temperature. Cover and refrigerate until ready to use.

🔥Recipe Notes

For a spicy kick, use up to a tablespoon of crushed chili flakes.

Storage: Store in an airtight container up to 3 months in the refrigerator.

Uses: Great for grilling chicken, pork or shrimp. Delicious as a dipping sauce for egg rolls, chicken strips or wontons.

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces plum preserves
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon ground chili flakes or red pepper

Instructions

  • Add plum preserves, brown sugar, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and salt to a saucepan.
  • Whisk until combined and cook over medium heat. Cook, stirring often until brown sugar is dissolved and sauce is heated through, about 8 - 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and pour into jars. Cool to room temperature.
  • Cover with an airtight lid and refrigerate up to 3 months.

Notes

Use plum sauce as a grilling glaze or dipping sauce.
Double recipe as needed.
