Homemade Brisket Smoked Sausage and our Maple Sausage are great to have on hand but we also enjoy many delicious varieties from the grocery store. For this recipe we are using the Johnsonville Beef Smoked Rope Sausage. It’s a budget friendly option for busy families.

We served this grilled smoked sausage up with Garlic Butter Baked Potatoes and Grilled Mushrooms. We put the potatoes on about 45 minutes before the sausage and mushrooms. Cooking the whole meal on the grill is great for easy cleanup and doesn’t heat up the kitchen.

  • Beef Smoked Sausage
  • Olive Oil 
  • Steak Rub

🔥 Step By Step Instructions

  1. Prepare a grill fire. For this recipe we are using our Big Green Egg Ceramic Grill with lump charcoal.Smoked sausage links and mushrooms on a sheet pan.
  2. Remove smoked sausage from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Place on a rimmed baking sheet. 
  3. Spray or drizzle with olive oil coating well. 
  4. Sprinkle lightly with steak rub. Grill with foil packet of potatoes, mushroom skewers and smoked sausage.
  5. Cook the smoked sausage over indirect fire for 15 minutes. Smoked Sausage with mushrooms and potatoes.
  6. Remove from grill and serve immediately.

🔥 How to Store and Reheat

Store leftover smoked sausage in an airtight container or zip top bag in the refrigerator up to 4 days. 

Reheat in a skillet coated with olive oil over medium heat, stir occasionally until heated through.

Ingredients

  • 2 packages Beef Smoked Rope Sausage
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons Steak Rub

Instructions

  • Prepare a grill fire to 350°.
  • Remove sausage from packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Drizzle with olive oil, coating the sausage on all sides.
  • Sprinkle with steak rub.
  • Cook over indirect fire with the grill closed for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from grill and serve immediately.

Notes
