We like to buy whole pork loins to slice up for our favorite Grilled Pork Chops  and grilled Jalapeño Peach Pork Loin.  We take the ends and cut them into chunks for skewers. Our Pork and Pineapple Kabobs are another weeknight favorite.

We have had this homemade Plum Sauce on the list to make for a while and it’s so good that we are making it again this week. It is super simple to make with plum preserves and adds delicious Asian flavor to the tender and juicy grilled pork skewers.

🔥 Ingredients Needed

  • Pork Loin
  • Onions
  • Banana Peppers or Bell Peppers
  • Plum Sauce

🔥 Step by Step Directions

Collage: pork chunks, sliced peppers and onions, on skewers, brushed with sauce.

  1. Pat the pork dry with paper towels and cut into 1 inch chunks. 
  2. Slice the peppers and onions into small chunks. 
  3. Alternate pork, peppers and onions on skewers. 
  4. Pour 1/2 cup plum sauce into a bowl and brush over both sides of kabobs.Pork Kabobs on a grill.
  5. Place over indirect grill fire and cook with the grill closed about 8 minutes.Brushing glaze over pork kabobs on grill.
  6. Brush with plum sauce and turn the kabobs. Brush again with the sauce. Grill with pork kabobs.
  7. Continue to cook another 8- 10 minutes or until pork reaches 145° using a digital meat thermometer.Platter of pork kabobs.
  8. Remove from grill and serve immediately. 

🔥 How to Store and Reheat

Remove pork, peppers and onions from skewers and store in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.

Reheat in a skillet with additional plum sauce over medium heat, stirring often until heated through.

We served garlic mashed potatoes and garlic bread with these pork kabobs. Foil Packet Potatoes and Grilled Asparagus are also great options for a complete meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds pork loin cut into 1 inch chunks
  • 1 cup sliced onions
  • 1 cup sliced banana peppers or bell peppers
  • 1 cup Plum Sauce

Instructions

  • Prepare a grill fire to about 325° using pecan or hickory for smoke flavor.
  • Thread chunks of pork alternating with peppers and onions onto skewers.
  • Pour 1/2 cup of plum sauce into a bowl and brush over the pork and vegetables on both sides.
  • Grill kabobs over indirect fire with the grill closed about 8 minutes.
  • Brush with plum sauce and turn the kabobs. Brush once more with sauce and continue to cook another 6-7 minutes or until pork reaches 145° using a digital meat thermometer.
  • Remove from grill and serve immediately.

Notes

Store leftover pork and vegetables, removed from skewers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Reheat in a pan with plum sauce over medium heat, stirring often until heated through.
