🔥 Ingredients Needed
- Granulated Garlic Look for granulated garlic, not garlic powder, which tends to clump.
- Chili Powder We chose ancho chili which is made from dried poblano peppers. It's slightly spicier than regular chili powder, either works just fine.
- Ground Cumin The essential spice for Mexican dishes.
- Kosher Salt Adjust the salt to your own taste or leave it out for a salt-free blend.
- Black Pepper We prefer the coarse, restaurant style black pepper, if you are using fine ground, use 1/ 2 of the measurement.
- Brown Sugar Adding sugar is optional but it really compliments the spicy flavors and helps caramelize the meat.
🔥 Directions and Storage
- Add all of the ingredients into a bowl.
- Mix using a large tined fork or flat whisk.
- Store in an airtight container in the pantry up to 6 months.
If you don't make fajitas often, this recipe can be divided in half.
🔥 Uses
Use ¼ cup per pound of meat or seafood along with olive oil and any of the following juices: lime juice, lemon juice, orange juice or pineapple juice to make a tasty fajita marinade.
Great for seasoning steak, chicken and shrimp. We used it to season several pounds of chicken tenders that we cooked ahead for easy meals this week.
🔥 Our Favorite Fajita Recipes
Grilled Steak Fajitas are traditionally made with flank steak but we love to use sirloin steak along with sliced peppers and onions. Making steak fajitas on the grill adds even more flavor to this restaurant favorite.
Grilled Chicken Fajitas are always a hit with the entire family. Easy to make with white or dark meat, the chicken really soaks up the marinade and turns out flavorful and delicious.
Steak and Shrimp Fajitas are one of our favorites making a surf and turf dinner that impresses everyone at the table with the mix of textures and flavors.
This Fajita Seasoning is so easy to make with pantry ingredients. It adds just the right amount of flavor and spice to your favorite fajitas and also makes a great seasoning for grilled burgers, chicken, steaks or sprinkle it over fries.
