Coming up with new grilling sauce combinations is our kind of fun. A few weeks ago we made Maple BBQ Sauce and slathered it over baby back ribs. It was one of the most amazing recipes to come off of our grill and we just had to try it on some wings.
Maple BBQ Chicken Wings ~ Smoky and Delicious!
Chicken wings are a staple for our weekend cookouts and these are super quick and easy to make. The Maple BBQ Sauce adds the perfect amount of sweetness and spice and these were a huge hit!

Ingredients Needed:
- Chicken Wings
- Ketchup
- Pure Maple Syrup
- Apple Cider
- Real Cane Syrup
- Worcestershire Sauce
- Granulated Garlic
- Smoked Paprika
- Onion Flakes
- Black Pepper
- Kosher Salt
- Ground Red Pepper
How to Grill Maple BBQ Chicken Wings:
Make the Maple BBQ Sauce:
- Add sauce ingredients to a saucepan and bring to a boil. Cook about 5 minutes. Set aside or refrigerate if making ahead.
For the Wings:
- Prepare a grill fire with pecan or hickory to about 300°.
- Pat wings dry with paper towels.
- Grill wings over indirect fire with the grill closed about 20 minutes.
- Pour about a cup of sauce into a large bowl.
- Add wings and stir to coat well.
- Return wings to the grill and continue to cook about 10 minutes until wings reach 165° with a digital thermometer.
- Remove to a serving platter and enjoy.
How to Store and Reheat:
Leftover wings are not usually a problem for us, but they are just as good the next day.
- Store smoked chicken wings in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- Wings can be frozen in a freezer bag or Vacuum Sealer bag for up to 3 months.
- Preheat oven to 350°. Place wings on a lined baking sheet and drizzle with additional bbq sauce. Cook for about

Maple BBQ Sauce Recipe
Maple BBQ Sauce is the perfect blend of flavors. Slightly sweet with just the right amount of spice for a great grilling sauce. Enjoy it with pork, beef or chicken.
Ingredients
- 2 cups ketchup
- 1 cup pure maple syrup
- 1 cup apple cider
- ¼ cup cane syrup
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon onion flakes
- 2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 2 teaspoons coarse ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- ¼ teaspoon ground red pepper
Instructions
- In a saucepan, add ketchup, maple syrup, apple cider, cane syrup, garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, dry mustard and red pepper.
- Whisk mixture together until well combined.
- Cook over medium heat until mixture comes to a low boil, stirring often.
- Continue to cook for 5 minutes, remove from heat and set aside until slightly cooled.
- Store in airtight containers in the refrigerator up to 3 months.
