Apricot BBQ Chicken Tenders
Apricot BBQ Chicken Tenders are a quick and easy meal to change up your dinner routine. Smoky and delicious chicken tenders coated in sweet and tangy bbq sauce is a finger-licking-good meal!
Grilled chicken tenders are my favorite for a quick weeknight dinner. Serve them up with Grilled Vegetable Rice Pilaf and grilled corn on the cob or fried okra for a family dinner that is sure to please.

Chicken Tenders ~ Chicken thighs are a great alternative if you prefer dark meat.
Apricot BBQ Sauce ~ Super quick and easy to make and so much tastier than any store bought sauce.
- Apricot Preserves
- Apple Cider Vinegar
- Real Cane Syrup or molasses
- Whiskey, optional
- Onion Flakes
- Granulated Garlic
- Kosher Salt
- Black Pepper
- Ground Red Pepper
How to Grill Apricot BBQ Chicken Tenders:
- Prepare the apricot bbq sauce.
- Build a grill fire with hickory or pecan chunks for smoke flavor. The chicken is cooked over indirect heat, a 350° temperature is ideal.
- Pat chicken dry with paper towels.
- Cook chicken tenders over indirect fire with the grill lid closed, about 5 minutes.
- Flip the chicken tenders and coat with sauce. Close the lid and continue to grill 5 minutes.
- Flip chicken again and coat with sauce.
- Continue to cook until chicken reaches 165° using a digital thermometer.
- Remove from grill and allow chicken to rest about 10 minutes before serving.
- Serve with additional apricot bbq sauce.
How to Store and Reheat:
Store cooled chicken wrapped in plastic wrap or foil in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
Reheat sliced chicken tenders in a skillet with additional bbq sauce over medium heat, stirring often, about 5 minutes or until heated through.
