We first tried these grilled mushrooms to go with our grilled Chicken Teriyaki Skewers and we made them again the next time we fired up the grill to go with Grilled Smoked Sausage. They are a great addition to grilled steaks or add them to  Grilled Mushroom Swiss Burgers.

Anytime we can cook the entire meal on the grill, it’s a win. Easy cleanup and the flavors from the grill are so satisfying. If you are a fan of mushrooms, give this easy side dish a try this week.

🔥 Ingredients Needed

  • Whole Mushrooms ~ White or baby portabella
  • Olive Oil
  • Steak Rub ~ This has become our favorite all purpose seasoning, use your favorite.

🔥 Step By Step Instructions

  1. Rinse the mushrooms under cool running water. Dry with paper towels.
  2. Add the mushrooms to a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.Mushrooms sprinkled with dry rub in a bowl.
  3. Sprinkle with steak rub and toss to coat well. Mushroom skewers ready to grill.
  4. Thread mushrooms onto skewers. Mushroom skewers and Italian sausages on grill.
  5. Grill over indirect fire with the grill closed 5 minutes.
  6. Turn the mushrooms skewers and continue to cook another 5- 7 minutes or until mushrooms are softened and start to caramelize.Grilled mushrooms on skewers.
  7. Remove from grill and tent with foil until ready to serve.

🔥How to Store and Reheat

  • Store leftover mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
  • Reheat in a skillet covered with olive oil over medium heat, stirring occasionally until heated through.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound mushrooms - white or baby portabella
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup steak rub

Instructions

  • Wash mushrooms under cool running water, brushing away any debris. Drain and pat dry with paper towels.
  • Place mushrooms in a large bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
  • Sprinkle with dry rub and toss to coat until completely covered.
  • Thread onto skewers.
  • Grill over indirect fire, about 350° with the grill closed about 7 - 8 minutes.
  • Turn the skewers and continue to cook another 6-8 minutes until mushrooms are softened and start to caramelize.
  • Remove from grill and tent with foil to keep warm until ready to serve.

Notes

Store leftover mushrooms in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
Reheat mushrooms in a skillet coated with olive oil over medium heat. Cook, stirring occasionally until heated through.
