BBQ Chicken is always a hit and it’s easy to grill a big batch for easy meal prep for busy weeknights.  Once you have the grill hot, chicken tenders cook in about 15 minutes.

  • Chicken Tenders
  • Olive Oil
  • Salt & Pepper
  • Sweet & Tangy BBQ Sauce

How to Grill Sweet & Tangy BBQ Chicken Tenders:

  • Pat chicken tenders dry with paper towels.
  • Place on a sheet pan and drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.

  • Prepare a grill fire to about 300° with hickory or pecan chunks for smoke flavor.
  • Cook chicken tenders over indirect heat for about 5 minutes.

  • Flip chicken and coat with bbq sauce.
  • Close the grill and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Flip the chicken and brush with bbq sauce.

  • Remove from grill and rest 5 minutes before serving.

How to Store and Reheat:

Store leftover grilled chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.

Slice chicken tenders and reheat in a skillet with additional bbq sauce over low heat. Stir occasionally, cooking about 5 minutes until heated through.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds chicken tenders
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ cup sweet and tangy bbq sauce

Instructions

  • Prepare a grill fire to about 300° with hickory or pecan chunks for smoke flavor.
  • Pat chicken tenders dry with paper towels and drizzle with olive oil and season with salt and pepper.
  • Place chicken over indirect grill fire for about 5 minutes with the grill closed.
  • Flip chicken and coat with bbq sauce. 
  • Close the grill and cook for another 5 minutes.
  • Turn chicken and brush with sauce.
  • Cook until internal temperature reaches 165° using a digital thermometer. 
  • Remove from grill and rest 5 minutes before serving.
