Ingredients for Grilled Sirloin Steak Recipe

  • Sirloin Steak – Bone-in or Boneless Sirloin
  • Olive Oil
  • Steak Rub: Brown Sugar, Granulated Garlic, Kosher Salt, Black Pepper, Chili Powder, Dried Thyme, Smoked Paprika

Step-By-Step Directions for Grilled Sirloin Steak

  1. Pat steak dry with paper towels. 
  2. Drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with dry rub on both sides.

  1. Prepare a grill fire to 350° using hickory or oak chunks for smoke flavor.
  2. Place the steak onto the hot grill fire and cook with the grill closed for 5-7 minutes.

  1. Flip the steak and continue to cook for another 4-5 minutes until desired level of doneness is reached using a digital meat thermometer. We cooked ours to 140° internal temperature.

  1. Remove steak from the grill and let steak rest for 5 -10 minutes for the best results. 
  2. Slice steak into thin strips and serve immediately.

Internal Temperatures for Perfect Steak

  • Rare Steak: 130°
  • Medium-Rare Steak: 140°
  • Medium Steak: 155°
  • Well Done Steak: 165°
