Ingredients for Garlic and Herb Glaze for Grilled Salmon:
- Malt Vinegar or Apple Cider Vinegar
- Molasses
- Olive Oil
- Brown Sugar
- Fresh Garlic
- Onion
- Dried Rosemary
- Dried Thyme
- Salt & Pepper
- Red Pepper Flakes

How to Grill Salmon:
- Mix glaze together in a small saucepan and heat just until sugars are dissolved. Set aside until room temperature.
- Remove salmon from packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
- Prepare a grill fire to about 400° with pecan wood for smoke flavor.
- Brush the skin side of the salmon with olive oil.
- Place salmon skin side down on the grill and brush with glaze.
- Cook with the lid closed, basting with more glaze every 5 minutes.
- Use a digital thermometer and cook until internal temperature reaches about 135°.
- Remove from the grill and rest 10 minutes before serving.
How to Store and Reheat:
Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 2 days.
Reheat in a covered skillet with 2 tablespoons water over medium heat, about 5 minutes.
TIPS FOR GRILLED SALMON:
- Grill salmon skin side down. The skin will protect the flesh from sticking to the grill and cooking too fast.
- There is no need to flip the salmon, it will cook through without being flipped.
- A grill pan is great for fish, especially if you have wide grates.
- Smoke flavor is a wonderful compliment for salmon. Try pecan or oak for amazing flavor.
- The USDA recommends cooking fish to 145°. If you prefer your salmon cooked to medium, grill to 130°.

Grilled Salmon
Grilled Salmon with garlic and herb glaze is a flavorful meal to make any night of the week. A quick and easy dinner that your entire family will enjoy.
Ingredients
- 3-4 salmon fillets
- 1/4 cup malt vinegar (or apple cider vinegar)
- 2 tablespoons molasses
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon + 1 teaspoon olive oil, divided use
- 1 teaspoon minced garlic
- 1 teaspoon minced onion
- 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
- 1 teaspoon dried thyme
- 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions
- In a small saucepan heat the malt vinegar, molasses, 1 teaspoon olive oil, brown sugar, garlic, onion, rosemary, thyme, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes just until sugars are dissolved and mixture is combined. Set aside to come to room temperature.
- Pat salmon dry with paper towels and prepare a grill fire to about 400° with pecan wood for smoke flavor.
- Brush skin side of salmon with remaining olive oil and place over indirect heat.
- Brush with glaze and cook with the lid closed.
- Brush with additional glaze every 5 minutes and continue to cook until salmon reaches about 130- 135° using a digital thermometer.
- Remove from grill and allow to rest 10 minutes before serving.
Notes
Store leftover salmon in an airtight container in refrigerator up to 2 days.
Reheat in a skillet with 2 tablespoons of water, covered over medium heat. About 5 minutes.

Thanks for the simple but delicious recipe. I only just got into grilling salmon (in-laws sent over a box of seafood and made me a convert, but grill season is quickly winding down. Planning to make this at least a few more times this season.
