Duck Fat Ribeye Steaks
Duck Fat Ribeye Steaks are incredibly flavorful and delicious. An excellent dinner for Valentine’s Day, anniversaries or celebration dinners. Step up your steak game with this easy recipe!
We recently made grilled duck and were really excited to cook with the reserved duck fat. These ribeyes were unexpectedly delicious and will definitely be on the menu for special occasions.

Ingredients Needed:
- Ribeye Steaks ~ Go for choice or prime for this recipe if available.
- Duck Fat ~ Reserve duck fat from grilled duck or it can also be purchased from Amazon
- Granulated Garlic
- Coarse Ground Pepper
- Kosher Salt
- Smoked Paprika
How to Grill Duck Fat Ribeye Steaks:
- Pat steaks dry with paper towels and place on a rimmed baking sheet.
- Spoon duck fat over both sides of the steaks, using about 1 tablespoon per steak.
- In a bowl combine the garlic, pepper, salt and smoked paprika.
- Season the steaks.
- Prepare a grill fire to about 400° with hickory or pecan for smoke flavor.
- Place steaks over direct fire and close the grill. Slow down the grill heat and let the steaks cook for about 6 minutes.
Check the steaks using a digital meat thermometer and continue to cook until desired doneness is reached. We do not recommend turning the steaks for this recipe. The steaks will be seared on the bottom and not turning them will keep in the most flavor.
- Remove steaks to a serving patter. Rest for 5 – 10 minutes before serving.
Internal Temperature for Grilled Ribeye Steaks:
- Rare: 130°
- Medium Rare: 140°
- Medium: 155°
How to Store and Reheat:
- Store leftover steak wrapped in plastic wrap in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
- Slice steak and reheat in a skillet with a bit of butter over low heat. Stir until heated through.
