Grilled Baby Back Ribs have become our go-to for weekend cookouts with the whole family. We’ve tried several methods including 3 2 1 Ribs but these Fall off the Bone Ribs are impossible to beat!

Ingredients Needed

Step By Step Directions

2 racks ribs on a sheet pan with salt & pepper.

STEP 1 Remove ribs from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Place on a rimmed baking sheet. Remove the membrane from the bone side of the ribs by running a knife in between the membrane and the ribs. Give it a tug and it should come right off.

STEP 2 Place ribs over indirect grill fire with pecan or hickory for smoke flavor.

STEP 3 Continue to cook for 1 hour with the grill closed.

STEP 4 Remove ribs from the grill and brush with bbq sauce.

STEP 5 Wrap ribs in a sealed foil packet.

STEP 6 Return ribs to the grill, we used our pellet grill for this portion of the cook. You can also finish the ribs in the oven if preferred. Cook for another hour or until ribs reach 205° using a digital meat thermometer.

STEP 7 Remove from grill and carefully open the foil packet. Allow ribs to rest about 10- 15 minutes before slicing. Ribs will be so tender that they will literally be falling off of the bone.

How to Store and Reheat

Store leftover ribs in a zip top bag or covered dish in the refrigerator up to 4 days.

Reheat ribs on a baking sheet covered with foil. Bake for 8- 10 minutes or until heated through. Ribs can be reheated on the stovetop in a covered pan over medium heat, turning after a few minutes to heat from both sides.

We are using our Orange BBQ Sauce for this recipe for something different. It’s made with orange marmalade, orange juice, brown sugar, garlic and spices. A perfect compliment to pork.

Sweet and Tangy BBQ Sauce is our favorite for just about everything on the grill including pork chops, chicken and pulled pork sandwiches.

If you like a spicy kick, our Dr Pepper Jalapeño BBQ Sauce is always a hit for ribs, pork chops and chicken.

What to Serve with BBQ Ribs

Southern Potato Salad is the classic side dish for ribs and a must have for any cookout or potluck.

Ingredients

  • 2 racks baby back ribs
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon coarse black pepper
  • 1 cup Orange BBQ Sauce

Instructions

  • Prepare a grill fire to 250° with pecan or hickory for smoke flavor.
  • Remove ribs from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Remove the membrane from the bone side. Use a sharp knife to loosen it and then pull it off and discard.
  • Season the ribs with kosher salt and black pepper.
  • Place ribs bone side down on the grill and cook with the grill closed for 1 hour.
  • Remove ribs to a clean sheet pan.
  • Brush with a thick layer of bbq sauce.
  • Make a sealed foil packet around the ribs.
  • Return to the grill (we moved the ribs over to our pellet grill) or place in the oven keeping the grill between 250 and 275° with the grill closed. Continue to cook 1 hour or until internal temperature reaches 205° using a digital thermometer.
  • Remove from grill and carefully open the packet. Rest for 10- 15 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Store ribs in a zip top bag or wrapped in foil in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
Reheat in a 350° oven on a sheet pan covered with foil for 8 – 10 minutes or until heated through. Brush with additional sauce if desired.
