Ingredients

  • 1 pound pulled pork
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoon spicy brown mustard or dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons hot sauce we like Louisiana Hot Sauce
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt skip it for lower salt intake
  • 6 sandwich buns
  • coleslaw for bbq for serving

Instructions

  • In a small saucepan combine maple syrup, spicy brown mustard, hot sauce, minced garlic, and a pinch of salt. Cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
  • Meanwhile, place pulled pork in a large skillet over medium- high heat, stirring occasionally until pork starts to crisp. Pour the sauce over the pork and stir until it is well coated and heated through.
  • Remove from heat and prepare the sandwiches.
  • Top bottom buns with a spoonful of coleslaw, top with pulled pork and add top buns.

Notes

Store leftover pulled pork in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 2-3 days.
Reheat pulled pork in a skillet over low heat, stirring until heated through.
Variations: Add cayenne pepper to make it spicier or less hot sauce for a milder sauce.
