Slice each hot dog lengthwise down the center without cutting through the ends. Turn and repeat so each side has a cut but the ends are still intact.
Drizzle with yellow mustard and rub it all over. Sprinkle generously with Out Grilling Sweet BBQ Rub or steak rub, turning to coat on all sides.
Place hot dogs directly on the grill over indirect heat. Cook for about 30 minutes, turning occasionally, until they’re smoky and starting to crisp.
Remove from the grill and cut the hot dogs in half. Place them in a foil pan, drizzle with Out Grilling Sweet & Tangy BBQ Sauce, and top with a few pats of butter.
Return the pan to the grill and cook another 30 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and caramelized.
Remove from grill, give it a stir and serve warm or at room temperature.

Storage: Keep leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
-
Reheat in a skillet with additional bbq sauce, stirring occasionally until warmed through.
-
Variations: Swap in spicy mustard or Jalapeno BBQ sauce for more heat. If you are using a more savory bbq sauce, add 1/2 cup brown sugar to the bbq sauce and butter mixture.
