Ingredients

  • 4 boneless pork chops
  • ½ cup real cane syrup or molasses
  • ½ cup V8 juice
  • ¼ cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Louisiana hot sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons spicy brown mustard
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon pepper

Instructions

  • Make the Marinade: In a small saucepan, add real cane syrup, V8 juice, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce and mustard.
  • Whisk together and cook over medium heat just until the mixture starts to bubble.
  • Remove from heat and cool to room temperature. Speed up the cooling process in the refrigerator if needed.
  • Place pork chops in a zip top bag.
  • Pour 3/4 cup of marinade over pork chops, squeezing out the excess air. Turn over the bag a few times to coat the pork chops in the marinade. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
  • Prepare a grill fire to 350° using pecan or hickory for smoke flavor.
  • Remove pork chops from marinade. Season with salt and pepper.
  • Place over indirect fire and cook with the grill closed about 8 minutes.
  • Turn the pork chops and continue to cook until pork reaches 145° using a digital meat thermometer.
  • Remove pork chops to a serving platter and allow to rest 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Store leftover pork chops in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 4 days.
Slice pork chops and place in a skillet with additional marinade. Cook over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
