Smoked Pulled Pork Hoagies

Ingredients

  • 1 Pork Butt
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • ¼ cup Dry Rub

for the Creamy Mojo Sauce

  • cup olive oil
  • cup orange juice
  • cup lime juice
  • 4 cloves garlic cloves
  • ½ cup cilantro
  • 2 tablespoon honey
  • ½ teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup sour cream

for the Hoagies

  • 6 hoagie buns
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 ½ pounds smoked pulled pork
  • onion strings optional

Instructions

How to Make Smoked Pulled Pork:

  • Coat pork butt with olive oil and dry rub. 
  • Cook over indirect grill fire at about 325° with the lid closed. Cook for about 3 hours or until internal temperature reaches about 205°.
  • Remove from grill and rest about 20 minutes. Use large forks or meat claws to shred the pork. 
  • Pork can be cooled and stored in airtight containers in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. 

How to Make Creamy Mojo Sauce:

  • Place orange juice, lime juice, minced garlic, cilantro, cumin, salt and pepper in a blender. Blend until smooth. 
  • Add sour cream and blend until well combined.
  • Pour into a mason jar or small pitcher. Refrigerate until ready to use. Sauce will stay fresh up to 5 days, stir before using.

How to Make Smoked Pulled Pork Hoagies:

  • Butter and lightly toast hoagie buns. 
  • Top with smoked pulled pork. 
  • Drizzle with Creamy Mojo Sauce.
  • Top with crispy onion strings if desired. 
  • Serve immediately.
