- 2 pounds ground beef
- 4 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon kosher salt
- 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 8 hamburger buns
- lettuce tomato, red onion for serving plus your favorite condiments
Prepare a grill fire to about 300° with hickory or oak for wood smoke.
Mix the steak rub by combining brown sugar, garlic, smoked paprika, salt, pepper and dry mustard together.
Mix seasonings into ground beef and form into 8 patties with an indention in the middle of each.
Place over indirect heat and cook with the lid closed for 5 minutes. Flip burgers and continue to cook until burgers reach 165° internal temperature.
Remove from grill and serve on buns topped with lettuce, tomato, onion and your favorite condiments.
