- 3 Ribeye Steaks
- 3 tablespoons duck fat
- 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
- 1 tablespoon coarse ground pepper
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
Pat steaks dry with paper towels.
Spoon duck fat over both sides of the steaks, using about 1 tablespoon per steak. Place on a rimmed baking sheet.
In a bowl combine the garlic, pepper, salt and smoked paprika.
Season the steaks.
Prepare a grill fire to about 400° with hickory or pecan for smoke flavor.
Place steaks over direct fire and close the grill. Slow down the heat of the grill and let the steaks cook for about 6 minutes.
Check the steaks using a digital thermometer and continue to cook until desired doneness is reached. We do not recommend turning the steaks for this recipe. The steaks will be seared on the bottom and not turning them will keep in the most flavor.
Remove steaks to a serving patter. Rest for 5- 10 minutes before serving.
