- 2 pounds boneless chicken thighs or breasts
- ¼ cup butter
- ¼ cup honey
- ¼ cup Louisiana Hot Sauce
- 1 teaspoon granulated garlic
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- ranch dressing for serving optional
Prepare a grill fire to about 350° using hickory or pecan chunks for smoke flavor.
Cut chicken into small pieces.
Make the hot honey sauce by combining honey, hot sauce, butter, garlic, salt and pepper in a small skillet over low heat. When butter is melted, whisk together until sauce starts to bubble. Remove from heat and set aside.
Cook chicken over indirect heat with the grill closed about 10 minutes. Using a digital meat thermometer, cook chicken until internal temperature reaches 160°.
Remove from grill to a bowl and pour hot honey sauce over the chicken. Toss with tongs to coat.
Return chicken to the grill.
Quickly pour remaining sauce over the chicken. The hot sauce will steam, so quickly close the grill.
Continue to cook chicken about 5 - 10 minutes until internal temperature reaches 165°.
Remove from grill to a serving platter and serve immediately.
Serve with ranch dressing for a dipping sauce if desired.
How to Store and Reheat:
Store leftover chicken in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Reheat in a skillet coated with olive oil or butter over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
