- 1 can 29 ounces sliced peaches in heavy syrup, undrained
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 box 15 ounces yellow cake mix
- ¾ cup butter melted
- vanilla ice cream for serving optional
Prepare a grill fire to about 350°.
Pour peaches with juice into a 10 inch cast iron skillet.
Sprinkle cinnamon over peaches.
Top with dry cake mix, spreading into an even layer.
Drizzle melted butter over the cake mix, covering the entire surface, but do not mix.
Cook over indirect fire with the grill closed for about 25- 30 minutes or until edges are bubbly and topping is golden brown.
Remove from grill and cool 10 minutes before serving.
Top with vanilla ice cream if desired.
Fresh peaches: Use about 6- 8 fresh peaches. Peel and toss with about ½ cup of sugar. Proceed with the same directions. Peach pie filling will also work in this recipe.
Store leftover cobbler covered in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Reheat in microwave before serving if desired.
