Maple Glazed Ham

Maple Glazed Ham is a delicious main dish for holiday dinners and family get togethers.

Ingredients

  • 7 -10 pound bone-in half ham
  • 12 oz pure maple syrup
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon coarse ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground rosemary

Instructions

  • Set ham on counter to come to room temperature 30 minutes to 1 hour before cooking.
  • For the glaze, add maple syrup to a saucepan and whisk in garlic, pepper, smoked paprika, kosher salt and rosemary.
  • Cook over medium- high heat and bring to a boil. Continue to cook for 3-5 minutes, whisking often.
  • Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  • Use an injector to inject maple glaze into the ham. Use remaining glaze to brush glaze all over ham.
  • Prepare grill to a 300° fire with hickory for smoke flavor.
  • Place ham over indirect fire, close grill lid and cook for 10- 15 minutes per pound until ham reaches 140° internal temperature.
  • Remove from grill and allow to cool 10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

How to Store and Reheat Ham:

Store ham in a zip top bag, covered in plastic wrap or foil. Refrigerate up to 4 days. Freeze ham in a vacuum seal bag or 2 layers of plastic wrap and a layer of foil up to 3 months.
Reheat slices of ham in a skillet with a tablespoon or two of water over medium heat, turning once to heat through on both sides. Ham slices can also be reheated in a 325° oven on a sheet pan for about 8 minutes.
