Cream Soup: Cream soups are a great addition to the filling, use a can of cream of chicken soup, cream of mushroom soup or cream of jalapeno soup in place of the heavy whipping cream.
Tomatoes: Stir in a can of RoTel tomatoes with the chicken mixture if desired.
Cool Ranch Doritos: Substitute Cool Ranch Doritos or any flavor of Doritos if preferred.
Turkey: Leftover smoked turkey is also great in this casserole, either white meat or dark meat or a combination.
Oven Method: Bake Doritos chicken in a 350° oven for 40-45 minutes. Top with aluminum foil if it starts to get too brown.
Feed a Crowd: Double the recipe and bake in a large casserole dish to feed a crowd.
Storage: Store leftover dorito casserole in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
Reheat: Casserole can be reheated in the oven in a casserole dish for 12-15 minutes or in a non-stick skillet over medium heat, stirring until heated through.
