Blackberry Glazed Ham

Ingredients

  • 1 Bone-in half ham smoked, fully cooked
  • 10 ounces Blackberry All Fruit
  • ½ cup V8 juice
  • ¼ cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 ½ teaspoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 ½ teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 1 ½ teaspoons smoked paprika

Instructions

  • Make the Blackberry glaze by adding blackberry all fruit, V8 juice, dark brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, apple cider vinegar, garlic and paprika into a saucepan.
  • Whisk together and cook over medium heat. Bring to a boil. Lower to simmer for 5 minutes. Set aside to cook slightly.
  • Prepare a grill fire to 250° using hickory or oak for additional smoke flavor.
  • Remove ham from packaging and pat dry with paper towels. Place the sliced sided down onto a cutting board.
  • Cook ham over indirect fire with the grill closed for about 30 minutes.
  • Pour more blackberry glaze over the ham, brushing it to coat well.
  • Continue to cook ham with the grill closed, brushing with additional glaze every 30 minutes until internal temperature reaches 145° using a digital meat thermometer. We cooked this ham for a total of 2 hours.
  • Remove from the grill and rest for 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Storage: Cooled ham can be stored in a zip top bag in the refrigerator up to 4 days. Freeze up to 3 months in a freezer bag or vacuum sealed bag.
Reheat: Sliced ham in a skillet with additional blackberry glaze, turning after 2 minutes, to warm both sides.
