Italian Rub

This Italian Rub is a super simple homemade spice blend for grilling chicken, pork or beef. Made with pantry staples that come together to create tasty Italian inspired dinners.

Ingredients

  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons granulated garlic
  • 1 tablespoon dried basil
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 tablespoon coarse black pepper
  • 2 teaspoons kosher salt

Instructions

  • Add the brown sugar, garlic, basil, thyme, oregano, smoked paprika, pepper and salt to a bowl.
  • Use a fork or whisk to mix together until completely combined with no lumps.
  • Store in an airtight container in a pantry cabinet up to 3 months.

Notes

Uses: Sprinkle rub over chicken, pork or beef before grilling.
Stir 1/4 cup of rub into 1 cup of tomato sauce for a quick pizza sauce.
