Plum Sauce

Plum Sauce is a classic Asian sweet and sour sauce that is great for grilling. Brush it over pork chops, chicken or shrimp for a tasty meal that is sure to please the whole family.

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces plum preserves
  • ½ cup brown sugar
  • ¼ cup pineapple juice
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon granulated garlic
  • ½ teaspoon ground ginger
  • ½ teaspoon kosher salt
  • teaspoon ground chili flakes or red pepper

Instructions

  • Add plum preserves, brown sugar, pineapple juice, apple cider vinegar, soy sauce, garlic, ginger and salt to a saucepan.
  • Whisk until combined and cook over medium heat. Cook, stirring often until brown sugar is dissolved and sauce is heated through, about 8 - 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and pour into jars. Cool to room temperature.
  • Cover with an airtight lid and refrigerate up to 3 months.

Notes

Use plum sauce as a grilling glaze or dipping sauce.
Double recipe as needed.
