- 2 pounds salmon fillet
- ¼ cup salted butter
- 2 garlic cloves grated or minced
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes
- 1 tablespoon coarse black pepper
- ½ teaspoon kosher salt
Prepare a grill fire to 325° using pecan chunks for smoke flavor.
Place salmon on a rimmed sheet pan.
Make the honey garlic butter by adding butter and garlic to a small pan.
Cook over low heat about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Remove from heat and add in onion flakes, honey, salt and pepper.
Stir to combine.
Brush over salmon in a thick layer.
Grill salmon over indirect fire with the grill closed for about 15 minutes.
Check the salmon using a digital meat thermometer, continuing to cook until salmon reaches 135° - 140° for medium finish, the USDA recommends an internal temperature of 145° for all fish and seafood.
Remove from grill and rest about 5 minutes before serving.
How to Store and Reheat:
- Store salmon in an airtight container in the refrigerator up to 3 days.
- Reheat in a skillet with melted butter or a little olive oil over medium heat, flip after about 2 minutes and continue to cook until heated through.
