Chicken & Sausage Gumbo

Prep ingredients

Cook the bacon. Drain on a paper towel.

Cook the onions, celery and peppers in bacon drippings

Make the roux

Add broth to the roux

Add broth to the vegetables. When thickened add chicken & sausage.

Mix seasonings with brown sugar. Stir into the gumbo.

Add bacon & hot sauce.

Lower to simmer, cook 15 minutes.

Serve over rice.
